For too many mums-to-be and their partners, negative associations, in particular, fear, anxieties and pain, overshadow the wonder and happiness of childbirth. It really needn't be that way. With Confident Childbirth, you can learn to change your perceptions so that you can enjoy your pregnancy to its fullest, and also have a joyful and stress-free birth.

My aim is to guide you to experience the birth of your baby in a positive and comfortable way with minimal, if any chemical pain relief. This would be a real benefit for your baby and with a shorter labour with less stress and energy used, you can be fresh and alert for enhanced bonding with your new arrival.

When you are prepared for childbirth with a Confident Childbirth practitioner, your mind and body are in harmony, so with your natural birthing instincts, you can learn to trust your body and work with it. You CAN approach childbirth with confidence.

You will learn self-hypnosis (which is a skill you'll have for the rest of your life) and as you practice it during pregnancy, it promotes:

  • Relaxation
  • Sensation control (in readiness for your labour and delivery)
  • Calm and confidence
  • Better sleep
  • Easier digestion
  • Emotional control

I have been lucky enough to train with Jane Hodgkin, the Confident Childbirth Quest Institute Trainer. Jane's experience in this field is wide and she has helped many with her knowledge and training skills. Jane believes in enabling the mother to access her mental resources when they are needed so that she can increase her sense of control.

 

 

Sessions can be booked at anytime during your pregnancy. For birth preparation, I recommend that we start at about the third trimester although many like to start earlier than this for the added benefits of relaxation which bring about inner peace of mind and tranquility.
